Firstly its not only about price, of course price is important but if you save yourself some money only to cost you more money in the long run then did you really save any money at all? So when looking, if you come across super cheap prices like I did while looking then think of the common old saying “If its too good to be true then it probably is”. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t good deals to be found out there and if you shop at reputable stores that pride themselves on reputation and quality customer service then it’s extremely unlikely you’ll get ripped off. We recommend purchasing a Segway for sale online as in general the best prices do tend to always be online, although I wouldn’t buy from an auction style website unless it was obviously a store just using the auction as part of their marketing campaign (which is common practice). I’d rather purchase from a large reputable company you can trust and I strongly suggest you at least consider doing the same. This is the safest, most reliable way to purchase a Segway for sale online and you may even qualify for the 6 month finance option if you’d prefer to pay it off.

Over the last decade a new form of personal transportation is becoming the preferred option for more and more people as they realize the advantages of a machine that can take them almost anywhere they can walk. There are obviously times where cars are more practical but there are many situations in which the Segway due to its versatility is a better option.
Not only does the Segway take you many places that cars will not, like footpaths and indoors but it will save you time and money also. Traveling at approximately 20km (12miles) per hour and not being bound to the road and its rules enables shorter and quicker routes to wherever you need to go particularly getting to and from work in rush hour. These eco-friendly electric powered machines will save you money on fuel, insurance, parking and car maintenance, all that’s required is an overnight charge worth less than the daily paper and you’re good to go for another day of up to 39km (24 miles).
Segways are often compared to other modes of transport like bicycles and conventional scooters with the main criticism being the price tag. If you take close look at the technology it quickly becomes obvious why they’re a pricey item and I can see why this turns many away from purchasing one but to people that can afford to purchase a Segway the price is less of a factor and all of the advantages soon outweigh the price difference especially with the good deals currently available when you purchase a segway for sale online.
There are a range of Segways available each aimed at a particular type of use from simple commuting to full off-road adventures. When investing in a Segway you want to make sure you are purchasing the model most suited to your intended use. Here are the current models of Segways for sale along with a brief description and some differences between them.
This is a basic model and is designed for normal, reasonably smooth terrain like roads, footpaths, grass and indoors. The i2 is the most efficient model and travels further per charge than any other. It’s available in 3 colors with a range of optional accessories.
Segway i2 Commuter
This is designed for those commuting to work or running errands needing to carry papers and files. It’s simply an i2 with added storage.
Segway i2 Cargo
If you need to carry substantial loads to and from work, deliver sizable items around town or pick up the groceries then this option is ideal for you, it has two large, durable, weather tight, lockable and removable cargo compartments either side of where you stand. Other than the storage this model has the same specifications as the standard i2.
This is my favorite model, it’s rugged and tough and looks it too with its beefy fender frame and nobly, wide tires. This is the machine for you if you don’t want to be bound to smooth surfaces and would rather cross varied terrain to save even more time while getting about or just take it down the road less traveled for the shear fun of it. As this Segway is heavier and the all terrain tires create more drag the traveling range per charge is only half that of the i2, so if long distance commuting is your intended use then this model might not suit. These are only available in one color scheme which is black and silver but it looks great, there is also a large range of accessories made to fit the x2 series.
Segway x2 Adventure
This is an X2 with additional features for those people requiring storage on their travels. It has a handle bar storage bag for drink bottles or any items you would like to be easily reached and cargo plates on either fender for you to carry whatever is needed.
Segway x2 Turf
Same concept as the standard X2 except if you intend to travel over a lot of turf then this model will insure you don’t damage it or leave tire marks. It still has large tires but with a more sleek tread pattern and they are designed to be run at low air pressure causing less damage to turf than a golf cart.
Segway x2 Golf
This is the same as the X2 Turf, designed specifically to not damage those beautifully manicured fairways. The difference is the two great additions which transform it into a single person golf cart. The first is an attachment bracket for your golf bag and the second is a handle bar attachment which holds your scorecard, balls, tees and pen. If you’re a golfer you’ll instantly picture all the benefits over the traditional golf cart.

Around the turn of the millennium there was a growing buzz about a new product that was soon to revolutionize personal transportation. Finally towards the end of 2001 Segway revealed its human transporter, an electric, two wheeled, self balancing platform that would travel in any direction the driver leaned. It wasn’t until 11 months later in November 2002 the public saw the first Segway for sale at the online retailer Amazon.com
This new scooter had on-board computers, motors and gyroscopes which worked seamlessly to keep it in balance at all times and all that was required to drive it was to lean forward and back for speed control and side to side to steer. This may sound awkward but even the first models were engineered so well that they were surprisingly easy and intuitive to learn to drive.
The greatest benefits of these over a traditional scooter was the upright (standing) position and the low noise emitted from the electric motors which allowed them not only to be used on the road but also to be used on footpaths and even indoors.
As easy as the originals were to drive, there was still room for improvement when the new models were released in 2006. The new i2 and X2 series Segways no longer turn by leaning the platform left and right, instead the handle bar stem pivots side to side and is used to steer. The new models have been made more appealing to look at by being styled for current times rather than appearing futuristic and offer a range of practical features/options fitted from new or purchased later as accessories that can be added to your scooter when needed e.g. cargo holders, golf bag holders, locks, lights etc.
Since the release of this revolutionary transportation device the growth has been steady but I suspect somewhat slower than the company had anticipated. However, as more businesses realize the potential advantages and productivity gains of utilizing Segways within their work place and peoples perception slowly progresses from thinking it’s a little strange to see people zipping around on them, the growth can only increase. Personally I believe given some time these may still become a part of every day life for those of us living in more densely populated cities throughout the world.
